President Paula Miles – 2019-2021

Welcome to the website of the San Antonio Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. We invite you to explore the site to become acquainted with The Links, Incorporated organization and the San Antonio Chapter, and to learn how you can support the chapter’s community service programs.

The Links, Incorporated was founded in 1946 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is an international, non-profit organization of women who devote their time, talents, and resources toward improving the lives of others. The organization is composed of 288 chapters located across the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom. By delivering programs focused in the areas of Services to Youth, the Arts, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services, and Health and Human Services, members of The Links, Incorporated are Transforming Communities, Fulfilling Our Purpose.

The San Antonio Chapter was chartered on December 10, 1960 with 14 civic-minded women who saw needs in their community and endeavored to meet them. In 2020, the chapter will celebrate 60 years of friendship and service to that community. We are planning exciting activities focused on literacy, the arts, voting rights and other issues of broad and diverse interest that we invite you to participate in with your presence and your financial support.

Since 2014, the San Antonio Chapter has implemented a comprehensive science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics program (recognized in 2017 for its Best Practices) at the Eastside branch of the Boys and Girls Club in San Antonio. With the assistance of our supporters and community partnerships, we have supported literacy programs with the donation of books and tablets, implemented signature arts programs, provided resources and information to our community regarding health and national issues, and helped expand the knowledge of young people and adults about our connectedness to international issues.

The San Antonio Chapter supports the only Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in our community in a significant way, establishing a $125,000 Links Endowed Scholarship Fund through the Alamo Colleges Foundation to assist students enrolled at St. Philip’s College. Counting both our Links High School Scholars Program, which annually fund scholarships for deserving high school students and scholarships awarded through the St. Philip’s Endowment, the San Antonio Chapter has awarded over $200,000 in academic support to deserving students from the San Antonio area to date.

Our signature fundraiser, The Links Western Gala, gives our supporters opportunities to contribute to our youth programs and community service efforts. The 20th Annual Western Gala will be held February 8, 2020 at Pedrotti’s Northwind Ranch and we hope that you will support us by becoming an event sponsor or with a ticket purchase.

We are proud of our past accomplishments and we are excited about the opportunities to continue serving now and into the future. Thank you for your interest and past support and we know we can count on you to continue helping us transform lives and fulfill our purpose.

In Friendship and Service,

Paula E. Miles
President, San Antonio (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated
